Sale-a-bration Delicate Dahlias

A new month and time for a new blog hop.   We are all featuring  cards this month which are available for free with a qualifying purchase in the next two months from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  You will love all the cards from my team  members and get great ideas for any set you will wish to get.

I have chosen to work with Delicate Dahlias.    I love anything that has to do with gardens.   I plant lots of flowers and tried dahlias this year.   They have enjoyed the heat.  Dahlias are so pretty and come in so many colours.   I started out just experimenting with the flower stamps and getting them to match.   I put black dots on the two stamps so it was easier for me to match them up.  There are two petals close together and that is where I place the dots.
I started simple and just stamped the  outline dahlia in Gray Granite and then filled it in with BumbleBee.  I love the texture of the stamp which adds in colour  with highlights without me having to colour.  The leaves are easy to add and easy to match up as well.
Then I looked on Pinterest and saw lots of embossed dahlias so I stamped in Versemark, embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and coloured in with my blends in Calypso Coral to match the cardstock.  I used Old Olive on the leaves.
I need to get the leaves a little closer but I loved the effect of colouring in the flowers and leaves as well.  I added  a Bumblebee trinket to the top two cards.
Then I tried embossing with White Embossing Powder on Highland Heather.   I fussy cut one out and placed it on top with dimensionals.  It was quite quick without colouring and looks lovely too!
I hope you enjoyed all the neat cards you can make with this set and the Sale-a-bration brochure has many ideas in it as well which I am going to have to try.    This set is free when you purchase $120 of product from the two current catalogues.

More ways to use strips!

Well, lots of ways to use those strips I never used to save but do now!
You can use lots of bright colours like I did on the left and leave a space for the sentiment!

Or.... I used all green strips and then stamped the leaves for the flower right on the strips.  I stamped the dahlia in FlirtyFlamingo and fussy cut it.  I added some rhinestones and a sentiment.   This dahlia is free during Sale-Bration!  It is very textured stamp set and so pretty!

Using up your Strips

I started keeping all the strips I was cutting off cardstock.  They are all different sizes and can be used to make marvelous cards.   You just glue them on and then you can cut things out of the glued pieces or make a card with them.

Designer Series Paper Sale!!!

It is that time again - wonderful creations by our team!     Some of the Designer Series Paper is on sale now for 15% off so we decided we would feature cards showing off the marvelous paper Stampin' UP makes.

I thought I would feature the DSP (Designer Series Paper) - Bloom Where You're Planted.  The DSP in this set just really makes easy and beautiful cards!   I cased this one from the catalogue.   You just cut the DSP at an angle - put it on the card - add a pot - and voila!
This card has a piece of DSP behind the trellis and I just added some plants cut out of the DSP from the same set - very quick to put together a lovely card.
This again is some plants cut out of the DSP and another piece of the paper within this Bloom Where You are Planted.    This is a set of paper which you will use every piece!

I hope you enjoy all the wonderful creations of all our team!

Life’s a Peach

The designer paper I have used on both these cards is on sale for 15% off in July!!  It is very pretty and goes well with the Free as a Bird stamp set!
I just coloured the birds with watercolour crayons to blend their tummies in with the rest.

Here is another one.  Both these cards use the Colour and Contour Dies which make a great frame around the DSP!

Blends and Alcohol

My friend Fran and I made these cards today.   You colour on vellum with alcohol pens and then dab rubbing alcohol on it and it makes the loveliest backgrounds!

My friend Fran used Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Old Olive.    I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.   Then we both put little lines of glue and added some Gold Leafing.    Aren’t they just gorgeous!!!
