Simple Card made into a Fancy Fold Card

I have been showing how to make some simple cards on my Facebook  Lives and on Monday showed how to make a simple card and turn it into a fancy fold.  The card above is a simple card with a piece of Designer Series Paper that measures 4 X 5 1/4".     To make it into a fancy fold you score the card at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" and then you fold it.    You have to put a piece of  paper to stop the fold at the bottom so I cut a 1 1/4" piece of  glitter paper I had left from Sale-a-bration and then I punched a row of trees to make it look a little nicer.  

I decided that adding a snowflake to the top and using the three little trees which were leftover from the bottom of the card would  make the card prettier.   I put some Wink of Stella on the the three trees but it was hard to get it to show up in the photo.

1.  Cut cardstock 11" by 8 1/2".

2.  Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2 ".

3.  Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 4 by 5 1/4" , fold it in half and adhere to card.

4.  Cut a piece of cardstock or glitter paper 1 1/4".  You can just glue it down or you can put pop up dots underneath to make it a little higher.

5.   Decorate your card to match your DSP!

Merriest Moments and Ornaments

 I decided just to try Real Red and White and then added a couple of ornaments cut from the Saleabration paper.  I liked the ornaments on top with the sentiment underneath.

It is neat with this set of dies how you can cut out a frame and then cut out the detailed dies and emboss them to create this wonderful detailed background.

Sparkly Merriest Moments

I think these are my favourite cards that I have made with this bundle.  Night of Navy and silver have always been a go to for me for Christmas!  These look ornate but actually did not take very long to make.
The silver paper from Saleabration was so popular it is sold out!  You could use any silver behind the white.  I embossed the sentiments with white embossing powder.

This next card is the same design but with Shaded Spruce, gold and Flirty Flamingo Pointsettias.

Oh my!   I didn’t think I needed this set at first but it really makes stunning cards!  It really is so easy to use too!  I started out making very simple cards just using the embossing folder.  I started out with Evening Evergreen and just added a stamped Pointsettia in Cherry Cobbler.  The embossing folder

 

gives such a deep emboss that it is enough to make this simple card.


On this card I added a price of Real red and put the Pointsettias on top and I used Garden Green to make the leaves and the sentiment!   This stamp set has lovely sentiments.

Happy Hallowe'en Westcoast Creators!!!!

 

I always think I have lots of time and then all of a sudden it is time for our Blog Hop again which is featuring Hallowe'en.     You will love all the creations of my team!

I have been working with the Give It a Whirl Dies and Hallowe'en is such a great time for children so I designed this card with my grandchildren in mind.   But really.....even as an adult.....who doesn't love a card with surprises in it!!

I have also been using the Sparkle of the Season Bundle which works for all seasons but I especially loved the little leaves and pumpkins I could add to the bottom.   The black glitter paper worked so well with the cat punch and the little wreath with stars which just fit nicely over the circle.

I did sponge the Gorgeous Grape with Momento Black ink.   I loved adding all the little bits of leaves and pumpkins and stars which I could cut out all at once with all the dies with the Sparkle Bundle.

When you turn the little wheel on the right I put in a little moon with a glitter bat to match the outside of the card.  You will love the Give It a Whirl Dies and you can make so many cute  cards with them.
